Zhuangzi was an important representative of Taoist during XianQin dynasty. He had a unrestricted deed and an independent spirit. Many scholars since Huishi fascinated Zhangzi and commented him with their own ways. Zhuangzi, whose status had already surpassed Laozi, occupied people's hearts especially during Wei-jin. Zhulin Qixian was the representative of ideal personality of the scholars. They learned Taoist thoughts from Zhuangzi which lead to the prosperity in the history of interpretation of Zhuangzi. Howerver, there were too more studies on the thoughts and literature of Qixian and less researches of the relate between Qixian and Zhuangzi. In this dissertation, based on the study of Zhuangzi, according to the theory of Aesthetics of Reception, I gave the example of Zhulin Qixian and researched them thoroughly. The whole dissertation had four chapters. Firstly, I analysized the social backgroud in the period of Wei-jin which was aimed to seize the characteristics of Zhuangzi reception. Secondy, three representative figures (Ruanji, Jikang, and Xiangxiu) were arranged to each chapter, and at the same time, I summarized their different reception features on Zhuangzi. The first chapter mainly involved the background of reception of Zhuangzi. There were many accidents in the world during Wei-jin chaos period. Zhulin Qixian started to pay attention to themselves, and meanwhile the consciousness of life was waked increasingly. With the double effects of politics and spirits, Lao-zhuang metaphysics emerged as the times requrie. Zhuangzi had a fancy for setting great store by being free and unfettered, retiring from political life and behaving unbridledly, all of which was so charming that Qixian were attracted deeply by Zhuangzi. Qixian oversteped the Confucian Ethical Standards and followed Nature. They inherited and developed the philosophies of Lao-zhuang and showed by theirdistinguished words and behaviors. The second chapter focused on Ruanji's reception and surpass Zhuangzi's idea. Ruanji worshiped Zhuangzi and fulfilled his theories faithfully. There was a big turning from Confucians to Taoists in Ruanji's life. What's more, He animadverted on hypocritical Confucian doxy and aspired after an unrestricted life. Ruanji developed the spirits of Zhuangzi, and meanwhile he surpassed Zhuangzi in some fields, eg. free spirits and views of monarch's value. The third chapter discussed Jikang's thoughts. Jikang respected Zhuangzi as a teacher. He cultivated a frank character due to the deep influence of Zhuangzi's personality. Jikang showed his violent criticism of Confucian Ethical Standards, and his sincere passion to nature, to the free life. In additon, on the basis of Zhuangzi's theory, he emphasized on the ideas of "preserving one's health" and "monistic materialism in conception of nature".The fourth chapter revealed the contents and substances of Xiangxiu's theory. Xiangxiu was a scholar. He had a preference to Zhuangzi and completed a great writing The Comments on Zhuangzi. Xiangxiu was for nature and against the fame and gain. From the motive of compromising the Confucians school and Taoist school, he used the creative interpellation of Zhuangzi to establish his philosophic system.
