Production And Ethics: The Moral Support Of Sustainable Development

Production is the most basic form of human practice . Making an ethical examination into production is to probe the following problems , such as the styles and the meanings of production and life , namely , does human's activities in production have their own limits ? How should people produce rationally ? How does social production take the road to a sustainable development ? In order to find a rational support for sustainable development from the aspect of morals , we must consider the ethical relationship in production , deal with correctly the relationships between human and nature , between person and the other and between human and material involved in production , and adopt an ethical pattern of production.Ethics of production refers to ethical spirits or ethical makings of people in production , and it is people's basic view on the activity in production in terms of morals . Human's material productive activity and moral spirits contain each other . Production is not only a natural process and material changing process , but also a kind of behavior in which human's value relationship forms , develops and changes . Material production itself possesses moral values . The morals is both the result of natural selection and social selection . As mankind's peculiar life style , morals take material as its prerequisite . The material products are the direct results of human's production . They are the crystallization of material culture and relational culture in certain era and the materialization of mankind's spiritual makings .Ethical problems in the production field have been neglected long-standingly in the course of modern production . Mankind , standing at the position of anthropocentrism , publicized the subjectivity , conquered , exploited unboundedly and destructed nature . In order to pursue the maximum and immediate benefit , people carried on the activity of production and economy as the role of homo oeconomicus . Regarding economism as the only goal , people pursued the economic benefits without noticing social benefit . Observing the only direction of materialism , they regarded production as gathering wealthand happiness as the maximum consumption of material . They lacked spiritual pursuit of value . These problems of modernity show that there is a serious crisis in the production , the development and the survival of human beings . we can offer a sustainable natural mechanism and some rational ethical supports for modern production by criticizing negative factors of modern production from the perspective of view on ethics , putting forward the ethical stipulations to modern production , changing the traditional economic view, productive view and consuming view .In order to solve the passive and external problems brought by productive development, some new ideas - the ethical thoughts of sustainable development have been raised . This offers us an ethical surmount to the paradox between production and ecology by carrying on cleaner production in idea . Meanwhile, people have found a new outlet -the development of pollution-free industry in practice . people are going out of the dilemma of production by developing the green products in practice .
