Sensation seeking is a kind of personality traits and one of society motives. Sensation seeking is not limited by society. Zuckerman's theory has proposed that individuals high and low in sensation may process information differently due to differences in arousal and attention . Which opinions are more reasonable? In addition to analysis of these basic relations, it is necessary to explore the cognitive complexity to sensation seeking. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the degree to how cognitive performances are affected by group difference in sensation seeking We use the Chinese Adolescent version sensation seeking scale to distinguish high sensation seekers and low sensation seekers .There are two experiments in this paper. The first study adopts subjective time estimation to determine differences between persons low and high in sensation seeking. The result shows that: there is significant difference between high and low sensation seeking groups. High sensation seekers estimate time shorter than the low groups during different cognitive complexity tasks and three time-intervals. They estimate time longer in simple tasks than in difficult tasks. The second study has three experiments. In the first experiment, we use single words identifying performance task; in the second we use double performance task that need subjects identify visual words and follow the words he listens; in the third experiment we also use double performance task that need subjects identify visual words and selectively follow the animal words he listens. The result shows that there is significant difference in single task between high and low sensation seeking groups, high sensation seekers are better, but there is no difference in the more difficult tasks.
