After experiencing the short splendid time of Justinian ,the Byzantine empire had already lost its character of the World Empire, and transformed into a medival Greek Empire gradually from 6th to 8th century. During this process,the internal and external surroundings which the Byzantium was in changed greatly.As a kind of important implement which can preserve the ruling order of empire,the law appeared some particular developing tendency.Its development and evolution not only reflected the transformation in every social aspects,but also influenced the development of the social history directly.This thesis attempts to investigate the developing procedure,the characteristic and the developing reason of the law in this time,and discusses its historical significance.Through this indirect respect ,one may get a deeper understanding of the history during which the Byzantine Empire had transformed from Late Roman Empire into Medival Greek Empire. This thesis begins with an introduction,which points out the purpose and the sifnificance of the topic.At the same time ,I will introduce the sources that the thesis relies on . The main body of this thesis consists of three parts,they set forth the evolution of the Byzantine law from 6th to 8th according to the logic relation. The last part of this thesis is a conclusion.Through investigating the situation of the Byzantine law ,we can draw a conclusion that the time from 6th to 8th century is the early stage of the medival Byzantium.The legislation frame which Justine established had been firmed and abundanted,and set up the basis of the second "gold time"of the empire.
