In recent years, Christianity in Beijing has been developing rapidly; the follower number has increased quickly. This phenomenon deserves academic concern and research. The author chose Zhushikou Church in Beijing as her investigating site for case study, and conducted field work for eleven month, aimed at understanding the forms and characteristics of religious activities, analyzing the Service of Pray and Testimony, comprehending the situation and growing tendency of Christianity in China.The thesis outlines the brief history of Zhushikuo Church and represents its current situation and activities. Then it focuses on the Service of Pray and Testimony, especially the core part of the ritual: testimony, describing the ritual process, analyzing its narrative forms, exploring the structure and functions of Christian significance of miracles.It concludes that: 1. Testimony is a very important religious activity. Instead of pastors and professional preachers, followers play the main role in the ritual, and miracle telling is the main part with the purpose of witnessing the exist of God.2. The substance of testimonv is That the believers replicate the Christian significance of miracles through miracle telling, including hisomnipotence, omniscience, kindness and personification.3. The special function of replicating Christian significance is to meet the need of the believers in the fields of cognition, sentiment and morality.4. The Christian significance provides a grand order system for the followers, aimed at explaining the disorder or suggesting the possibility of explaining the disorder, and providing an outlet for the believers to ease their puzzles and anxiety while the disorders occur. According to the author's prediction, the belief of Christianity will keep on developing and long-term coexistence with socialism society.
