"The poetical style of Dali period is still superficial, Zhenyuan period is overstate and Yuanhe period is still strange" says Lizhao in the Supplementary History of Tang Dynasty. "The poetical style of Dali period is still inflated'1 and "Yuanhe period is still strange" which have been gained general common recognition. As far as time is concerned, Zhenyuan period is the longest among all the three periods. But Lizhao so-called poetical style of Zhenyuan period is seldom mentioned and researched by people. This paper tries to find the position of Zhenyuan poetical style in literary history by analyzing the poets and their works during the period. It also expounds the background of times and mental influence for the poets. It takes Tangdezong, Quandeyu, Ouyangzhan, lvwen whose most of works focus on the Zhenyuan period as researching objects to analyze the range of subjects and artistic characters of this period. The poetical style of Zhenyuan period is continuation of Dali period, but it also appears the tendency of Yuanhe period. The communicative function of poets has been strengthened. The theme becomes more and more worldly and current. From art, it has become more recreational.
