On the whole, Tibetan believes in Buddhism deeply. They live near by a monastery and belong to it. They are the permanent giver of the monastery, which has formed a lot of communities. Because of differences in politics, culture and environment, there are different Tibetan communities with different faith characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism. Along with the reform and opening-up in China, traditional Tibetan society is going through the reorganization of social and economic structure, and the regeneration of culture ideology. Therefore, the new change has appeared in Tibetan Buddhists in different communities.This thesis has selected the communities of Chanding monastery and Labuleng monastery as subjects; I will analysis the similarities and differences between two communities in the Tibetan Buddhists, which bases on my field survey. From monks and believers, this article describes the historical evolution of Tibetan Buddhist in the two communities, and use the theory of four key element of religion to compare , analyze and summarize the religious idea ,religious emotion, religious behavior and religious institution of the two communities in the modern societies. Conclusion is that the religious aims of Chanding monastery believer often are common things, but the religious aims of Labuleng believer are sanctity. We also analyses the reasons of the differences in religious faith between the two communities in the aspects of the influences of religious ideology by region diversity, culture confluence and modern education. In the end, some comments on the religious reality will be presented.
