When an inditing person is focusing on his creating of work, he would usually be absorbed in an utmost status which is normally called inspiration. And the status of the inspiration would appear in two completely opposite ways in the Western and the Eastern - the Xu Jing ( untroubledness ) and the mania, which are undoubtedly the reflection of the traditional cultural difference and the literature theory difference between the Western and the Eastern.In the history of the Western and the Eastern aesthetics, being the theory of the aesthetical perspective, both the Xu Jing and the mania have long and deep historical origin. In China, there have been theoreticians like Lao Zi, Zhuang Zi, Lu Ji, Liu Xie, Su Shi, Yan Yu, Wang Guo Wei etc., while in the West there have mainly been Plato, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Bergson, Freud, Jong etc., who have all been the principal theorist in their field. In these two streams, Lao Zi and Plato are the two great representatives respectively for the Eastern and the Western nations in the first core period among human culture history, whose philosophies together with the aesthetical thoughts derived from them have formed the origin of the Eastern and Western aesthetical perspective theories. Thus the comparative observation of the origin would be greatly useful for us to better distinguish the features of the aesthetical perspective theory respectively for the Eastern and the Western. For example, while distinguishing the difference of their philosophical origin - Dao and the rationality, and the difference in their aesthetical routes, we may also at the mean time easily find out the amazing resemblance lie in them, like their mutual implicative orientation of diverting the human spirit from ordinary emotion and signifying the self-determination complex. On the earth, both of these two theories are a perfect combination of rationality and irrationality, consciousness and unconsciousness.Through comparison and study of the Xu Jing and the mania with the basic thoughtway of the Poetics Expatiation Theory, we could realize that it is impossible to summarize the features of these two concepts as differences or similarities.
