Marguerite Duras, as a representative for women writers, has been paid much attention to recently. But the research on her was mainly limited to impressive evaluation. We can say that, as a writer who guided women to get rid of convention and make for liberation in the middle of the 20th century, Duras showed the desire hidden in women's inner world genuinely, and she eliminated the psychological condensation of obedience to male and obedience to moral restriction. Thus it is safe to draw such a conclusion that Duras is a woman writer who is well worth researching. This thesis aims to re-expound Duras' writing and draw further conclusions based on the analysis of various women images in her works and research about the general emotional tone. Duras cared much about women' emotional world, thus various kinds of women appeared in her works with much value and significance. Women challenged the real-world value and enlarged love passionately and instinctively. Duras could touch the emotional inner-world of women, because of her talented language-style and her peculiar exploration, especially that she consciously varied her narrative style, released her narrative passion and steadily pursued the essence of love. The infatuation and adoration for emotion and desire made Duras one of the earliest writers who broke women's fairy tale of love in contemporary literature.
