With the development of globalization trend, English is a basic skill that the people should control in modern society. With the development of reforms and opening to the outside world, English education is not a second education for skills but the lifelong education, which is the reason why the adult education is developing fast in our country. However, adult education is still surrounded by the traditional features and the results of learners are not very satisfying. Task-based language learning that the foreign language field advocates aims at solving the issues mentioned above. The research of adult task-based language learning is a little weak. As a result, discussing the innovation of Adult foreign language curriculum in the perspective of task-based language learning owns academic values in the paper, especially the real meaning.The paper makes use of the cross-subject strategy , the learning-oriented strategy and the comparative framework of foreign language learning between adult and children, which discusses from five parts.Address the issue: on the one hand, the chapter 1 briefly introduces the main innovation trends of adult foreign language curriculum under the background of globalization and educational internationalization, which values the capability of communication. On the other hand, this part investigates the problems existing in the adult foreign languagecurriculum, which is far from the practical needs of learners and the principle function of learners has no opportunity to play.The main research of review: the chapter2 generalizes the advanced theory and states the notion of task-based language and the advancement.The research of pertinence: the chapter3 introduces the pertinence of task-based curriculum from the perspectives of adult education, the experience of overseas foreign language education project, the approach of task-based curriculum related to history of adult English instruction, and compares the learning characteristic between adult and children using the Knowles theoretics.Analysis of application theory: the chapter4 explains the next issues through the analysis of cognition hypothesis of task-based language learning ,which include that pedagogic tasks are sequenced for learners largely on the basis of increases in their cognitive complexity so as to increasingly approximate the demands of real-world target tasks and operates this proposal in the needs of distinguishing two dimensions of tasks.Analysis of manipulation case: the chapters explains the reasons why the task-based curriculum could be successfully manipulated in the adult English instruction; pay more attention to the professional knowledge and experience when design the task-based curriculum ; make good analysis of needs of learners ;understand the authenticity of taskfrom different aspects; design, select the task and inspire the principle function of learner according to the difference between adult and children.The main contribution of the paper is to narrate the innovative meaning of adult foreign language curriculum, pertinence, application theory and manipulation case on the basis of cross-subject strategy and the comparative framework of foreign language learning between adult and children.
