Through some decades' evolvement and innovation, the Er-hu art have improved by leaps and bounds both on performing techniques and theoretical researches. In particular, the theoretical research, no longer confining itself in performing techniques, has combined performance with other disciplines so that it has been a cross-disciplinary study, which not only focuses on aesthetic, dynamic, and psychological respects, but also explores the thinking modes and the philosophical thoughts impact on the Er-hu performing.This thesis begins with the law of contradiction. Then it, based on the principles of the universality and particularity of contradictions, of the principal contradiction and the principal aspects of contradictions, of the transformation of contradiction, attempts to expound the employment of law of the unity and opposites in the four inspects of Er-hu performing: first, the right-hand techniques; second, the left-hand techniques; third, the cooperation of two hand; fourth, the artistic and technique standard. This thesis aims to explain and analyze, with the help of the law of contradiction, the existing phenomena and problems in the Er-hu performing techniques, and thereby to research on the relationship of art and craft. As a result, the author expects to expand the thoughts of Er-hu performer, so that they could apply psychological principles to survey their Er-hu study and performance and promote the Er-hu art further.
