Wang Chongyang, the founder of the Quanzhen sect, was a great master of Daoism, who played an important role in Daoist history. There is historical and real meaning in studying Wang Chongyang's theory. My article firstly reviews the history of the research about Wang Chongyang, and then, gives a concept to "Daoist culture". On this foundation, the article talks about Wang Chongyang's theory and its cultural value from five aspects in the background of Daoist culture. The article contains five parts. First, Wang Chongyang, who succeeded and developed the essence of Daoist thought, was an important continuator to Laozi and Zhuangzi's Daoist theory and played an important role in advancing Daoist philosophy to internal alchemy. Second, Wang Chongyang founded the North part of Quanzhen sect and propagated Daoism in the way of Daoist communities, which firstly united the alchemical sects and ideological sects together. Third, Wang Chongyang reformed Daoism with the Quanzhen tradition in theory and form, which gave Chinese Daoism a rebirth. Fourth, Wang Chongyang's integration of Confucian, Buddhism and Daoism promoted the influence of Daoist culture in Chinese traditional history and made great contribution to the development of Chinese culture. At last, Wang Chongyang and the Quanzhen sect preserved the Daosit culture during the truceless Song, Jin, Yuan Period and made great contribution in lasting and developing Daoist culture. At the same time, the article also tries to think over the Daoist culture and matters in modern Chinese society together, and pay attention to expatiate the availability of Wang Chongyang's theory in modern society.
