On the view of the village, because the Christian culture collides with the mainstream culture of the village deeply influenced by western scientific and rational thought. During a long period, Christianity is still an insignificant part of multicultural system of villages with the point of rural Christian study, we need to break from the western sociological analysis paradigm of religion and re-examine the social function that Christianity carries out in the villages. The thesis can be divided into seven parts. The first part is introduction. It explains the reasons why the writer chooses his hometown as the research subject, then points out the theoretical and practical significance that the research brings to religious sociology, and last introduces the purpose, and specific content and methods of this research. The second part is a background introduction. It depicts the generalsituation of local economy, culture and religion, especially the village's economic, ideological and cultural changes. The third part analyzes the reason why Christianity develops and spreads in the village. It points out the following reasons. First, dissipation of the Christian colonial color. Second, loose Christian management. Third, strong western culture. Fourth, the great change of villages. Fifth, Christian own characteristics. The fourth part describes the reaction of the other villagers to the Christian mission. First it depicts the lukewarm response of Beizhuang villagers and illustrates the conflict with occasional cases. The fifth part dissertates the insignificant role that Christianity plays and its negative social function. First, the Christians in Beizhuang have no obvious embodiment of virtues that Christianity claims.Instead, there are some negative examples. Second, the majority of the villagers are honest and duteous. There is no need to restrain them with Christianity, which leads to social disintegration and even war many times in history. Third, Christian villagers marginalized in the village and they are more lonely after believing in Christianity. Their psychological problems can't be mitigated and even deteriorates in some cases. Fourth, the integration of Christians in a small area leads to the village spit in a great scope. Because of Christian extremist ideology, the villagers are splinted into two antagonistic sides in the ideological and cultural aspects.Fifth, the mutual aid has two sides. Though the mutual aid helps some believers, but economically speaking it dose not help and even causes the loss of mutual support from relatives and neighbors. The sixth part discourses upon the future situation of Christianity. The Christian culture collides with the cultural orientation of the villages. First, even under China's unique background the conflict between the scientific rationalism from the West and Christianity is also difficult to reconcile. Second, because of ethical conflict, Christianity will still play an insignificant part in the multicultural system of villages in the future. The seventh part is the summary. The author expresses his own view upon the present research of Christian religious sociology in the mainland.
