Although there are still many questions and arguments raised in academic fields towards this new group, it is certain that this generation will be the new hope of Chinese movie and will play a crucial role in Chinese movie industry.The realistic pursuits of the new generation directors are not only the self-redemption with solemn and stirring of them under a certain social cultural circumstances, but also a necessary step to make up a missed lesson for Chinese movie. It is a breakthrough as to the Chinese traditional movie that the new generation directors pursuit the realistic creation ideas and widely—used techniques which is a reform to Chinese movie. The realistic style and aesthetics pursuit of the new generation directors won the realism weight and humanism strength from their creation, and it will surely promote the development of Chinese movie.This thesis tries to explore the generative context of the new generation directors' works in a holistic horizon and survey the expressing strategies, cultural significance of realism aesthetics and the great effects of it under such an extensive social cultural context.
