As the representative writers of "personalized writing", Chen Ran and Lin Bai protested and overthrew the male chauvinism by self-couscious gender consciousness and anti-traditional aesthetic pursuit, and were dedicated to the construction of new types of female discourse while making deconstruction. Referring to some works of Chen Ran and Lin Bai, this thesis analyzes and unscrambles the deconstructing of the traditional male chauinism in their writings. This thesis is devided into three parts except preface and afterwords. The first part: Body writing. Chen and Lin fully practiced the theory of " Body writing " put forward by Helene Cixous, a French theorist. By exquisite description about female body and mind, they smashed the shield and distortion made by male description towards female experiences, and expressed the true psychological and physiological feelings of females, making a break out of the male-centered society with their body and life. The second part: Personalized narration. Chen and Lin attacked the male society and moral discourse by writing about the private life of females and disclosing the privacy. In contents, they described the personal life and private experiences of females; while in form, they always adopted the narrating form of new-type memoir or new-type biography, with a free, loose and tousy struction. The third part: From "Electra Complex" to "Patricide". Chen and Lin has created many heroines quite different from those in the traditional male descriptions. These heroines once are crazy about love, then they pursuit love, finally they woke up. Through painful struggles, they realize the transfer from "Electra Complex" to "Patricide", and also carry out the task of killing the "angle" and rescuing the "mad woman". And the myth of male chauvinism which has stood high for centuries collapses at that moment. |
