From cross—linguistic perspective,we make full use of teaching methods to cultivate and train foreign students'phonological awareness, investigating their phonological awareness development and its influence on their Chinese phonology,vocabulary and reading.After a session of teaching practice,we find having been trained for a proper period of time, adult foreign students'phonological awareness can still be improved,and its influence can be applied to the vocabulary and reading progress.1.Foreign students'phonological awareness should be trained lastingly and regularly.Although having been set for a long time,their phonological awareness can continue to develop through appropriate training.2.The development of foreign students'Chinese phonological awareness shares the same tendency with English and Chinese children, namely,onset—rime awareness develops,preceded by phonological awareness,and onset—rime awareness goes before phoneme awareness.3.The teaching practice to foreign students'Chinese phonological awareness has positive impact on their listening,promoting their phonological listening ability.4.The education on phonological awareness can not only help children learn to spell,but has positive effect on their identifying Chinese syllable and studying vocabulary as well.5.Phonological awareness training can improve students'reading ability.
