Being a succession to the late Zhou dynasty and an opening to Wuxuan dynasty, the literature of the early Han dynasty is an important changing period in the history of literature. The literature in that time is mainly lyric works such as poem and Saoti Fu. Analyzing the development of lyric works from Zhanguo to Han, this paper focuses on the emotional states and life consciousness in the poem and Saoti Fu of the early Han Dynasty to explore how lyric poem and Saoti Fu formed its own unique spirit on the basis of literature of Chu dynasty.Originated in Chu Sao, the poem and Saoti Fu of the early Han dynasty carried the lyric character of Chu Sao, and at the same time formed its own style and spirit.First, emotionally, lyric poems and Fu show the emotion of self, sincere inner world and pathos and deep atmosphere.Second, on life, lyric poems and Fu are about the shortness of human's life and long for the physical and spiritual eternality like the fairy. It shows the writers'love for life and pursuit of existential value of life.Third, artistically, abundant subjects, flexible style, pursuit of nature and usage of various representation forms mould its unique artistic characteristic.Fourth, social environment, cultural background and thoughts on literature have an impact on the formation of spiritual and artistic characteristic of lyric poems and Fu.In sum, focusing on the expression of inner feeling and the existential value of individual life, lyric poems and Fu in the early Han dynasty show both the burning passion and rationality.
