First, the govemment took actively in holiday custom activities. The govemment displayed guidance function and led festival activities.Second,because of commodity economy, official holidays in Song Dynasty became more and more secular and entertaining.The first chapter of this thesis discusses the formation background and reasons for official inspection official festivals .In the second chapter,we are going to research festival activities in both official and folk ones in order to display their splendor .The third chapter inspects festival holidy and its political aspects.influences of commondity economy,also about the relations between official festivals with religions,andrelations between folks with official festivals.The aim is to promulgate the characteristics influencing the development of official festivals in Song Dynasty.The thesis uses the history writing methods,with reference to the materials of festivals,such as official history,note, poetry ,works of articles.Achievements reseach methods in sociology, ethnology and cultural .Anthropology are also used. In order to inspect the formationg and development of official festivals in Song Dynasty with discussion about official activities in festivals,and other factors in thedevelopment of official festivals in Song Dynasty.
