Watercolor painting covers different qualities of a painter such as artistic accomplishment, ability and painting skills. The creative work symbols the accomplishment of the painter himself, without which there will not be good work. From this degree, creative thought guides and influences the content and form of the work.Watercolor painting was born in Britain in the 1800s and the 1900s, which is closely connected with European culture, showing the principle of inheritance; whereas, it can be accepted by different countries, showing the principle of extension. In modern times, due to the frequent cultural communication between countries, watercolor painting has been brought to China and has been popular ever since.Imported as it is, this kind of painting is close to Chinese traditional painting thoughts, theories and skills; therefore, it can be easily accepted by the Chinese people and come to be in harmony with Chinese art.Chinese watercolor painting, whose creative thought has been developing in a winding way, is closely linked with the fate of the country. At this late hour, watercolor painting has going through all the vicissitudes of life and has achieved great successes. The creative thought originates from the traditional painting theories of the east and the west. The painter' s self conditions, such as artistic accomplishment, ability and painting skills have been the direct reason of the work. Meanwhile, the modern reform in China has a deep effect on the thought.Today, what the Chinese watercolor painters face is how to face the challenge positively, grasp the opportunities, and lead the art into a brighter future. I believe, with the joint efforts of the society and the artists, watercolor painting will have a new breakthrough, creating the age belonging to the art.
