| Honour or disgrace has always been an important topic of philosophy in ancient times. At the time of Spring-Autumn and the Warring States, social life changed rapidly, the order of society was in anomie, the old moral system break down, and people's mind was in confusion. The thinkers of pre-Qin Dynasty faced the era problem and launched an in-depth discussion about the honor or disgrace in the process of reconstructing the moral order of the whole society. The thinking about honor or disgrace in pre-Qin Dynasty which can be regard as a complete ideology, has reached a very high level not only in the aspect of its specific contents but also in the aspect of its theoretical level. It was provided with the research value and practical significance for our building the socialist concept of honor or disgrace and constructing the harmonious society.This paper systematically inspect the social background and the base of human nature theory which was shaped by the Confucians in the Pre-Qin Dynasty, based on which profoundly disinter the characteristics of Confucians'honor or disgrace concept ,and we focus on its profits in our constructing the socialist concept of honor or disgrace. In the first part we introduced the reality of society in Spring-Autumn and the Warring States and expatiate on the social and historical condition in the forming of the pre-Qin honor or disgrace concept in the aspects of the economy, politics and culture. The social ethos got so bad that lead to the pre-Qin Confucians'thinking about the human nature. They fully affirmed the "good" side of human nature and demonstrate exhaustively the evil side. And then they formed the theory of human nature with abundant content, which laid the foundation for forming of their system of honor or disgrace concept. The second part disinters and analyses the characteristics of pre-Qin Confucians'honor or disgrace concept using the method of dialectical materialism and historical materialism. It's the most fundamental, the most notably characteristics of the pre-Qin Confucians'honor or disgrace concept that distincting the honor and disgrace in a "benevolence" and "justice" standard. Besides, pre-Qin Confucians attached importance to fostering people's shame consciousness first, mold their moral character and regarded cultivating and practicing oneself as an important method of forstering the honor or disgrace concept. The honor or disgrace concept created by the pre-Qin Confucians is distinctive in characteristic, rich in content and farsighted in compass. It's the first time to expatiate the honor or disgrace concept systematically and exhaustively in our history. In the third part we focus on the enlightment brought by the pre-Qin Confucians'honor or disgrace concept .At present, Chinese society is undergoing profound changes, the rapid economic development and cultures clash influences on people's thinking, way of life and value orientation in many aspects. Some people are confused in the value standard and moral principle, don't knowing right or wrong, honor or disgrace and can't distinguish between good and bad, Beauty and Ugliness in some degree, which do harm to our forming of good social ethos. So we should make use of the positive factors in pre-Qin Confucians'honor or disgrace concept , fully affirm the standard of "benevolence" and "justice", cultivate the sense of moral responsibility first and form a"Correct, healthy, positive, and uplifting"concept in the whole society. At present,"eight glory and eight shames"is a basal common value sense, whose being embedded into people's minds and then becoming their inner consciousness requires the in-depth education in our whole social. At the same time, all the members should enhance their culture and morally practice. |
