Linear Beauty

In all kinds of Chinese traditional art, it contains the concept of the "point" ,"line" and "side" basically. Although the cymbalo is a foreign instrument, it has gradually entered into the matrix of the Chinese traditional culture through long-time development ,reform and practice. The technique of expression and skill of the cymbalo can all show the style of Chinese traditional characteristic. "The linear skill" of the cymbalo is the kind of this show. The use of "the linear skill" plays an important part in the performing art of Chinese cymbalo. In this way, the thesis explores the meaning and role of "the linear skill" in the performance art of the cymbalo, through the practice of the cymbalo performance and each performing style of the four traditional schools of the cymbalo.
