On Public Ethics Under The Condition Of Market Economy

Market-oriented economy is a kind of modern economic system that can make allocation of economic resources efficiently, and it has greatly promoted the development of the society of our country. At the same time, however, the worrying problems have appeared in the field of social ethics. These issues reflect outstandingly in the conflicts between personal interests and public interests, also between personal rights and social obligations. If these problems cannot be resolved in a reasonable manner, they will affect the normal development of the market economy society. So in the process , where our country has begun the comprehensive construction of a well-off society and accelerated socialist modernization and construction of a harmonious society, how to construct public ethics in socialist market-oriented economy has become the key issue to constrain the continuous perfection of market economic system and the harmonious development of society. And the state of social ethics and construction of public ethics in socialist market-oriented economy has been concerned gradually.Public ethics is the fundamental value to keep the order in social interaction and the important guarantee to maintain the benign operation. At this stage , the reason for the declining the level of social morality is just because of the excessive pursuit of personal gain, and it is closely relative to the internal mechanism of market-oriented economy. Market-oriented economy is a sort of way of economy development that keeps interests drive as impetus, and the development of individual interests is the inherent requirement of the operation of market-oriented economy. However, the excessive pursuit of personal interests and social is inevitably in conflict with public interests. This article assumes that the field of cultural criticism existing in market-oriented economy society is a social space where public value and public spirits grow. And public ethics built in this area will be sure to effectively overcome the issue of lack of public interests resulting from the excessive pursuit of personal desires in market-oriented economy society. In the construction of the public ethics, harmony and cooperation value of Chinese tradition is precisely compatible with the market-oriented economic society with the multi-subjects. Therefore, we can construct a new public ethics with the spirit of harmony and difference, which can realize the organic unity of the nationality and modernity. First, this paper analyzes the ethical conflicts of market economy, what's more ,cards and also analyzes the solutions from some representative Western thinkers. And then, the thesis inspects Marx's solution, and brings forth the theory to build up public ethics in the market-oriented economy guided by Marxism. Finally, combining the above theory with the current specific practice of China, we can get the basic principles and constructing paths of new public ethics. Studying and discussing these issues is of great theoretical and practical significance to the development and perfection of China's public ethics and market economy society, and to building-up the socialist harmonious society as well.
