Cognitive Science enables people to realize that metaphor is not only figure of speech but also a way of thinking. At present, many scholars dwell on certain conceptual body-part metaphor analysis and cultural comparison and contrast, but few explores the essence of metaphor. According to the cognitive view of metaphor, the author conducts a relatively comprehensive summarry and analysis of the body-part metaphors one body part after another. From the study, the author discovers that there are externalization and internalization in body-part metaphor. Externalization refers to the phenomenon that human regards his own body parts as things in the objective world while internalization refers to the mapping from the domain of body parts to the more abstract domain of thinking and emotion.Via externalization and internalization human understands the whole world to some degree. Human understands the outside world and himself with the help of his own body and experience. Subject and object have not been completely separated. The world human knows is not the world itself, but a humanized world.
