Observing the whole Ming dynasty, the policy to drama activity especially the civil one experienced from drama banned to the combination of the drama banned and educated. Influenced by the change of the policy, the drama in the Ming Dynasty shows its own features in writing, playing, theories and so on. The development of different factors of the drama, on the other hand, fed back to the drama policy and accelerated the changing , adjusting of the drama policy.This thesis first attempts to describe the new features of the drama creating playing, and theories based on the general review of the changing of the drama policy in the Ming Dynasty. Then the study on the reaction of the drama to the Ming's policy discusses briefly. The thesis is structured as follows:Chapter one is a brief introduction on the study issue "the influence of policy on the drama in the Ming Dynasty". Besides, it also introduces the theory and methodology.Chapter two is the development of the drama policy in the Ming's dynasty. According to the different features in different periods, the thesis divides the development of the policy into three periods.Chapter three concerns the drama creating. Influenced by the development of the policy, the writing of the drama experienced from low quantity and small quantity to a humanism boom period.Chapter four discusses briefly the playing. During the prophase of the Ming, the drama activity was constrained even banned by the government. From the middle period of Ming on, with the development of the policy, the drama played at home become popular. The civil playing also changed with the policy.Chapter five makes an analysis of the drama theory influenced by the government. The theory develops with the policy. No matter traditional persuasion or the emotional theory put forward by Xu Wei and Li Zhi are both reflected in drama writing.Chapter six discusses the drama's reaction to the policy. The writing, playing and drama theory are accelerated or blocked by the policy. At the same time, the drama, to some degree, also influenced the policy. Due to such effect and reaction, the drama achieved more in the Ming dynasty.
