One was to develop breadthwise along with the venation of western modern art, exploiting in the conception and modality of art. The other was to deepen lengthways towards western traditional realistic painting, studying in the feat and language. The emergence of New Realism today is a deep penetration to Western Traditional Realism, and the bringing order out of chaos to Chinese oil painting's attention to conception and self-regarding.At the crossing of centuries, artists of New Realism come to realize the social responsibilities and mission that they should take as painters; therefore they emphasize in their works the concern toward living conditions of social groups, especially the lower classes. The goal which New Realism pursues is human realism and multi-realism.
