On The Topic Of Evolution And Creation Features Of Novels

Kurt Vonnegut was a very important writer of American contemporary literature.His works presents not only mordernistic characteristics but also post—mordernistic ones.He had done great jobs to the development of"black humor",some writers insisted that vonnegut had created a new type of literature. He had filled science fiction with black humor and moral meanings and promoted them to serious literary output,brought them to the elegent literary territory.Our researches to Vonnegut's fictions stopped over the ideological contents and composition characteristics of one of his book for many years. We haven't researched the ideological contents and composition characteristics of his fictions integrally.They were scattered.This article aims to analyze the characteristics of Vonnegut's fictions from two aspects:ideological contents and composition characteristics,intends to present a integral Vonnegut to the readers.As to the ideological contents,I will analyze the evolution of his fictions from the early days to the later period;As to the composition charadteristics,I will analyze the main characteristics of his composition.Having read almost Vonnegut's fictions,I found there was a procedure of evolution of his ideological contents.Ideological contents of early days as followed:Anxieties of the wrong use of science and technology;antiwarism; harm of hegemonism;sneers and questions the religions;anxieties of the end the word and calls to the conscience.Ideological contents of later period as followed:Breaking the restricts of earth, standing on the universal level to search the meaning of life; humanbeing's irreversible tragic destiny in contemporary society;the problems of American socity confronted such as:the worship to money; racial discrimination; disintegration of family; hypocrisy of democracy and freedom.Kurt Vonnegut was a writer who expericed modernism and post—moderism literature.He had also promoted the science fiction to serious literary output.Because of this ,researching the composition characteristics of his fiction will have a good value on researching the process and charateristics of moderism and post—moderism literature.As to the composition characteristics,this article will analyze the main charateristics of his compositon which present not moderism but also post—moderism characteristics.It includes:The use of absurdism; the use of the stream of consciousness;black humor;the primary novel;anti—heroic protagonist.
