Dong people, one of the main minority people in the Southwest China, mostly inhabit the overlapping area of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi province. With their long history and splendid culture, they have developed a set of norms and their own outlook which fit them well. All these consist in their traditional moral principles. In this essay, original state and historical value of the moral principle in Dong Minority People Autonomous County of Tongdao in Hunan province are researched.. Moreover, it will further discuss the problems facing the moral principles in the modern society today in order to see how these creeds survive and sublime under the background of Harmonious Society and Contribution of New Countryside. Contributing methods for moral building, Harmonious Society and Contribution of New Countryside can also be provided via the research.This essay expounds folk songs, folk tales, Dong Kuan, and customs which are loaded with moral principles of Dong minority people in Tongdao Dong and Miao People's Autonomy County. It sets forth the core idea of moral principles in labor, love and marriage, family, social activities and so on. Moreover, problems confronting moral principles of Dong minority people are further discussed in order to see how these moral principles survive, transform and ascent under the background of Contribution of New Countryside.
