The Ukiyo was looked on as packing paper of pottery,which drifted to leave the country and arrived to the Western World.XiDuoChuanGeMe,GeShiBeiZhai and GeChuanGuangZhong's flat line and color showed boundless lasting charm and magic power,which was esteemed by the whole Western painting circle.Manet,the morden Western pictorial master showed great interest to the oriental art of the Japanese Ukiyo, Manet's works absorbed and blended harmoniously the artistic idea and method of the Ukiyo. Manet formed vivid individual characters of his pictorial style. The Ukiyo influenced Manet on his selected subjects,linear art and his use of color,etc.This thesis will take some Manet's works for example,to admire and analyze Manet's outstanding works,which blended the Western and the Oriental art harmoniously.
