The Kite Runner being as the Afghan-born American writer Khaled Hosseini's maiden work, won good reputation all over the world when it was published. This work won almost all the prizes for new star in literary creation in the English-speaking countries and had made the record of occupying the top position of nine major book-ranking for over ten weeks at the same time. But there is little study about this writer and his works in China. The writer thinks that Khaled Hosseini is a writer who full of atonement thought. In the fiction, he make his effort to set up a salvation policy by describing the story of the grow up of an Afghan boy which in order to cure the sick Afghan society and the distorted humanity under the extreme religious concepts. People will have a better understanding about Khaled Hosseini when they read his works on the lever of growing and salvation.The basic points of this paper are the moral trend and the redeemable consciousness which show up in the creation of Khaled Hosseini's novels. Hosseini describes the figures' destiny in the novel to refract the contradiction between friendship and treachery which existing in Afghan different classes and religious beliefs. Meanwhile, through the text body he puts forward his solution which is breaking the bound of religious discipline and social customs according to people's growth and salvation , finally return to the essence of human.The study object of this paper is Khaled Hosseini's maiden work The Kite Runner. The author of this paper takes the analysis of the work as the main body, adopts the specific reading of the text and combines the two points of Bildungsroman and salvation theme to do the further study.The structure of this paper can be divided into four parts:The preface makes a systemic introduction about Khaled Hosseini including his information, his works and the research status and research value about him. Also this part makes a summary about Afghan social status and racial beliefs situation which as the background of this novel. Finally it sums up the study thought, study methods and conclusion of this paper.The first chapter analyses The Kite Runner from the vision of Bildungsroman. Then it summarizes the 'external growth' and 'inner growth' which the characters of this novel experienced. At the same time, it emphatically describes the important symbolizing meaning of image 'kite' in the growth of protagonist.The second chapter analyses The Kite Runner deeply from the theme of salvation. This chapter could be divided into three segments which follows the sequence that the production of crime, the process of salvation and the realization of salvation, so as to deeply analyses on the theme of salvation. And summarize the methods to relieve the soul that is the consciousness of moral sense, the courage and the aloofness of soul. The third chapter starts from the creating technique of text, summarize the two unique narrative strategies: recurrent character structure and several metaphor structure. The application of all of these creating methods has good impelling action on describing the theme of the novel which can embody the theme of the salvation better.
