Chiang Ching-kuo Rural Construction Model Study

The thesis focuses on Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction movement in China. It started in june 1939 when Chiang Ching-kuo come to gannan and came to an end in 1945. Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction played on active role in the rural reconstruction movement in modern China. However, this movement has largely ignored. The author study to Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction movement synthetically and research to the field no studying from the political,social,agricultural and educational respect using history study method. The author study to background course and result of gannan rural reconstruction movement systematically, thoroughly and deeply, and clarify the clue and the historic feature of rural construction in that period. On the other hand the author summarize the character of Gannan's rural reconstruction movement, comparing it to the others, and comment on the impact of it, using themodern theory.This thesis is divided into six chapters altogether:The first chapter review the past research works, and introduces the methodology and materials used in this research.The second chapter: The background analysis of Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction movement. This chapter review the behindhand the social economy condition as well as the rampant of gentry power, the decline political power of the social form. The rising status of Gannan in Sino-Japanese War.Chapter three: The thought of Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction. The plan of Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction is divided into four parts: political reconstruction,social reconstruction,agricultural reconstruction and educational reconstruction. The author described the origin of Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction. It mainly include the three people's principles of Sun Yat-sen,the experience of ancient statesman,the thought of rural reconstruction school.Chapter four: The practice of Chiang Ching-kuo rural reconstruction. Chiang Ching-kuo took a series of measures to revitalize rural economy during its ruling Gannan. Through the political reconstruction,social reconstruction,agricultural reconstruction and educational reconstruction,it strengthed its control to Gannan village and promoted the modernization of Gannan rural society.Chapter five: The impact on the rural society of Chiang Ching-kuo rural construction. The impact was as follow: 1,It made the state power sink to the village. 2,It avoided the involution of the rural regime in Gannan to acertain extent. 3,It promoted the modernization of Gannan rural society.The last chapter is the historical orientation of Chiang Ching-kuo model rural construction. Compared with the other areas,the rural construction of Gannan possesses the characteristics of distinct modernity and the effect what it is inquired is better too. Though the rural construction model adopted by Chiang Ching-kuo is different from the one adopted by the other and the achievement obtained is also very rich,it is a mild rural reform and there is no essential differences from other rural construction movement.
