ChanBa river basin is one of the important region in Guanzhong area even in Shaanxi province where the Neolithic settlement sites distributed. Since the Banpo site explored in the fifty years of twentieth century, the field work in half a century had found a large number of the Yangshao Culture to the Longshan Culture period settlement sites.Recently, the academic discussion focus on the origin of civilization. In current years, in order to research the complicated process of society, the way of analyzing the evolution of the Neolithic settlements became more and more popular. The related work in ChanBa river basin started earlier and researched deeper. Untill now , theory and research had developed in depth. In particular, the basic framework of pottery periodization provided a theoretical basis to get the sites age, "Atlas of Chinese cultural relics in Shaanxi fascicle " provided the basis information to analyze. In addition, to be honor to take part in the Third National Survey of Cultural Relics in Xi'an, I have the clear recognization of geographical environment and some sites characteristic in ChanBa river basin, which carried out the important analysis.According to Yangshao the early, Yangshao the late and Longshan period of time series, this paper tried to analyze the relationship between spatial and temporal distribution of settlements in the various stages, with a view to study the rule of Neolithic settlements evolution in ChanBa river basin.
