Firstly,on the basis of analyzing the relationship of The Ladies 'Classic of Filial Piety and The Ladies' Classic Filial Piety of Illustrations,the author definites the relatively reasonable form of the matching of the picture and the word in use of the following methods such as the reading of pictures and documents,comparing with the scrolls of The Classic of Filial Piety,counting the rate of the known version.On the reason of the prevailing of The Ladies' Classic Filial Piety of Illustrations,the author analyzes the difference of the man and woman in the thinking that the youngests should respect and support the elders under the ground that the filial piety was popular during the period of the last Tang Dynasty and Sung Dynasty.At the same time,from the painting's function and the position of the ruler at that time and other aspects,the author discusses the direct reason of the pervasion of The Ladies' Classic Filial Piety of Illustrations.Through analyzing the materials of the painting's history,the author finds that the main function of The Ladies' Classic Filial Piety of Illustrations is to help educate and teach the public.
