On The Material Status And Role Of Contemporary Sculpture

As one kind of objective intermedium,material plays a very important part in art creating.But along with the artistic unceasing development, the material broken former limits and played more roles.This paper contains four parts.The first part is about the material expressing in contemporary art.The second part is from art shape to discuss the relation between material and sculpture.The third part is discussing material's physiological foundation and the psychological basis analysis,and draws the conclusion that material is one which of important attributes the artistic form produces.The last part takes some examples.From the four part,the author achieves follow object:by using more materils,thes culpture's style is expansion;now with artistic multiplication development,material using is more widespread;The material has had the change—unprecedented promotion in present age statuary art status.
