The presupposition theory which was raised by Gottlob Frege and then developed further by Strawson has become one of the focuses in both of the linguistic circle and the philosophical circle. The multi-level and multifaceted significance and value have gradually reached the consensus in the academic circle already. However, because of various reasons, the study on the presupposition theory is still immature. There are many debates on its basic concepts and theory. The written sentences or the written discourses are focused on previous studies on the presupposition theory from whether the semantic perspective or the pragmatic perspective. This essay will view the presupposition theory as the pragmatic phenomenon and do the preliminary study on the conversational communicative function of the pragmatic presupposition.According to what the author mastered on the presupposition theory, it is rare to have such the literature monographs as use the presupposition theory to solve the practical problems in Russian language. Therefore, from the view of conversational communication and language strategies, this essay does a research on the function of the presupposition theory in the conversational communication. Its corpus is the real communication in the Russian language. From the information transferred perspective, the presupposition is the beginning of transferring information. It can generate the context continually and decides the adaptability of subsequent utterances, thus it can make the information transfer coherently. So it is the condition of ensuring the conversational communication to be carried out successfully. The pragmatic presupposition promotes the derivation of the discourse implication and has the communication effects of humor and misunderstanding. At the same time, the information transfers. It is hoped that the essay will helpful to the communication of Russian language, Russian teaching and intercultural communication.This essay can be divided into three chapters:The first chapter: Review and summarize how to raise the presupposition theory in order to show the developing choroids of the presupposition theory and make a distinction between the presupposition and the related concepts.The second chapter: We make a comparison of the concept of the semantic presupposition and the pragmatic presupposition. This essay has a tendency on the pragmatic concept and analyzes both the concept of the pragmatic presupposition from the view of conversational communication and the relations between the semantic presupposition and the pragmatic presupposition.The third chapter: This chapter is the core chapter of this essay. The author describes the function of the pragmatic presupposition in the conversational communication and discusses how the pragmatic presupposition has an effect on the inference of the conversational implication and produces the special communication effects of humor and misunderstanding.
