Narrator. "pale Fire"

There are several articles have been devoted to Nabokov's novel entitled Pale Fire, however, decipher the type of read can not came out with a satisfactory answer, because it is impossible to find an unique center or significance from those fragments that not coherent. After an in-depth study of the special narrative phenomenon in this novel, this paper attempts to provide an effective perspective to understand the heterogeneity factors included in this novel. The specificity of the narrators in Pale Fire makes different from the traditional novels and other modern fictions, which including four aspects in this novel: the relationship between narrators and narrative levels, the relationship between narrator and character, the relationship between narrator and focalizater, the relationship between narrator and the existenceness of the text.First of all, the relationship between the narrators and the narrative levels break the linear logic used by narrators in traditional novels, and converse the methods of narrative from Syntagmatic pattern to Paradigmatic pattern, showing the creative intentment of the narrator. On the other hand, the " pseudo-diegetic " describes the phenomenon of narrative metalepsis, reflecting the relationship between the narrators of different levels.Secondly, the narrator and the character is in the split condition in this novel,depending on heterodiegetic autobiography, self-deconstruction of autobiographical pact, and two story narrating once. This kind of raletionship between narrator and charracter results from the purity of the narrator, avoided narrative shipwreek and questioned the term of Person.Third, narrator and focalizator has been distincted clearly in the narrative of peeping. As a whole, the relationship of the two shows a kind of rhythm which means the creative nature of novels. On the other hand ,The narrator'interference to the focalizator result in the former being Creator in the novel.Finally, two kind of toward achrony of the narrator in this novel implied a space in text. More importance, the time of logic brought by the narrator becomes the third dimension of the text except the time of story and the time of narrative, making the novel a spatial text.The characters of the narrator in Pale fire shows the creative conscious he has. As far as this novel concerned, its value lies not only in writing tactics of novel, but also in the state of reality it has achieved, and the later is a breakthrough in literary for the reason that this text is a state of "reality" itself rather than any imitation of the reality. This is precisely the expression of this novel for the literary.
