I will focus on Balthus, Balthus' s painting style and the reasons for its formation as well in the essay.In an overall perspective, arts' s development is based on the excellent artistic tradition and it needs to absorb and integrate modern and comtemporary art of all nationalities. As artists, we should strive to learn from the best painting tradition, mastering the law of painting; we should learn from the experience of other nations to make up for our lack of experience in painting. We should not blindly follow while learning, which would not only prevent the contemporary painting from developing in a fit way, but even ruin his future. Meanwhile, the development of art can' t go any further without artists' observation on its era, reflection and continuous exploration in art, creative talent and courage. Therefore, artists should love life. And they should try to link their art practice and creation to the times closely.
