For artists, the study of the tradition language is an eternal topic. 'Tradition' can be seen as a vertical evolving progress, a vast system which will be enlightening to the later generations. As time moves forward, with the concept of progressing with evaluation in interpreting tradition, nowadays people need to continuously enrich and broaden this enormous system, enabling the spirit of tradition to ceaselessly prosperous.Modern people need to translate classical Chinese into modern Chinese in order to be widely understood and spread. In the same way, when artists are creating, it's necessary to "transliterate" the traditional artistic modulating language and aesthetic judgment into contemporary language. Referring it as "transliterate", is to emphasize the creative characteristic of art. We need to take the approach of "discovering" tradition, not simply "directly translating" its surface appearance... Only when the seeds of tradition are planted into the soil of the present can tradition attain rebirth, and become fruitful in the contemporary circumstances.The extending of the tradition should initially be dealt with in education. Tradition should be an important piece in the formation of the knowledge structure of a Chinese artist. Cultural confidence is based on its increased comprehension. Obtaining the comprehension and perception towards the traditional culture, with the profound knowledge in a specific area, the artist's works will certainly reflect his rich culture deposits.This thesis, based on the contemporary situation, demonstrates the transliteration and rebirth of the traditional language. The thesis is divided into three parts.1. Redefine tradition. An attempt to clarify our understanding of tradition.2. Confront tradition objectively. An analysis of different concepts toward the tradition language. A contemporary transferring sentence referring to the tradition language.3. Transliterate and rebirth. A specific interpretation of the author's concept, clarifying the common misunderstandings of tradition, and concluding with the author's suggestions.
