Wu mingshi, whose old name is Bo Naifu, who was the quite disputed writer in the 20th century Chinese history of literature. His early time experience caused him to catch the strong political color, and couldn't obtain the fair appraisal in legitimate literary world. But since 80's, mainland accepted all thoughts, as well as Wu mingshi's work research overseas, Wu mingshi's work could appraise by the literature world.Wu mingshi's work is riding high in the 40's, "The Arctic graffiti" is his signature work, "Tarry's Woman" is its representative works. The new skill, unique character image, ingenious plot as well as the revolution added love pattern which is popular at that time, attracted readers' eyeball rapidly, so which was fashionable for a time in the 40's.This paper deals with the study of Wu Mingshi's two early love novels of "the Arctic Graffiti" and "Lady in the Tower", which analyzes the combination of kitsch and aestheticism, mergence of Avant-garde and popularity, and integration of modernism and romanticism through the four characteristics of legendary color, the pursuit of aestheticism, popular narrative strategy and modernism to answer the question about life, love and the meaning of life, and to reveal the pursuit of art and unique contribution in Wu Mingshi's novels.
