During the second language teaching, teaching language is not only the medium of instruction ,but the teaching content as well, which makes it be of paramount importance to the teaching result. Based on the conclusion of previous related theories and the research of a survey of beginners in Chinese-teaching classroom in Thailand, the essay puts forward that during the Chinese-as-second-language classroom, the teacher should Integrate the advantages of both the mother language and the target language, and make good use of the mother language ,which aims to optimize the Chinese-learning environment.Looking back to the evolution of foreign language teaching, it is the mainstream to use target language as teaching language during the foreign-language teaching after the Grammar-Translation Method declined, at the same time,the mother language is avoided. Combining theoretical analysis and empirical investigation, the paper demonstrates the the status of mother language during the foreign-language teaching. In theory ,on the base of the analysis of the theories of Comprehensible input,the Affective filter and the language-transfer, the paper emphasize the importance of mother language. In practice, the author conducted a questionnaire survey on the students in four schools in Thailand and the Chinese-volunteer teachers that sent to Thailand in 2007, and collected qualitative and quantitative data, then added up and analyzed the results , found out that it is essential and necessary to use mother language of the learners in classroom for students and teachers. Finally, the paper gives out some suggestions about the effectiveness use of mother language, hopes to Provide some help and inspiration for TCFL,in addition, we should know that not all the errors are caused by the transfer of mother language, but some are caused by the language development itself. We should analyze, conclude, find out the root, and carry out targeted treatment, so that the theory of the transfer of mother language can has positive significance and we can achieve a lot.
