From middle 19th century to early 20th century, all kinds of transcriptions were very popular at that time, piano works transcripting from J.S.Bach's works took a important part in it. These piano transcriptions appeared not only on the concert program at that time, but also today's concert, because they were loved by musicians and music fans. We call the appearing of thousands of piano transcriptions based on Bach is "Bach transcription phenomenon". So it is necessary to study how and why did the phenomenon come into being, and analyse the typical transcription styles.This article analyses three kinds of typical transcription styles and the critical composers, and tries to study the true reasons of the "Bach transcription phenomenon". What's more, we try to explain the historical reasons by answering three questions about "Bach transcription phenomenon". The characteristic of "Transcription" and "Bach's music" are deeply analysed in order to find the inherence reasons of "Bach transcription phenomenon". At last we discuss what's the artistic value of the phenomenon and what can we do on it.
