Hsi Muren is the famous poet, essayist and painter in both the mainland of China and the Taiwan island. Her paintings combined with her poems and proses constitute a world of love and beauty. As an artist of dual identities, her painting technique and literature style will influence each other. Although some scholars have studied the artistic features of her literature works.But it is not deep and systematic. This thesis attempts to focus on how her painting technique influence her literature creation from interdisciplinary point of view of Comparative Literature.This thesis can be divided into three chapters.The first chapter introduces why Hsi Muren fell in love with literauture and paintings.Firstly it's because her family and education background.Then it gives an account of her paintings and the literature works involving paintings.At last, it introduces the people who influenced Hsi Muren and had a lot in common with her.The second chapter mainly talks about beauty and love that is the style of Hsi Muren's poetry and painting. And analyzes the author how to use the means literature and painting shared:image and space to show this kind of love and beauty. The image performance of love and beauty is represented in the images "lotus" and "moon" which mostly seen in her works.The time and space performance of love and beauty can been seen in the use of painting techniques:hand scroll and white space.The third chapter focuses on how Hsi Muren's painting techiniques influence her literature creation. These painting techniques mainly include:sketch, scale and colour:Specifically, sketch mainly refers to line; scale includes light and composition; colour refers to the color coordination and balance.And how the author expresses her feelings by colour.
