Bronze lamps, as a common type of bronze utensils, play an important role in the history of Chinese bronze-ware development. Bronze lamps first appeared in the Early Warring States Period, prevailed in Qin and Han dynasties. This thesis collects a total of 125 bronze lamps dating back to time periods aforementioned, amongst them, mainly excavated relics, supplementing with handed-down antiques. Applying typology, this paper classifies those bronze lamps, and according to their various modifications, divides them into 6 main categories:mid-late Warring States period to Qin dynasty, Early Western Han Dynasty, Middle Western Han Dynasty, Late Western Han Dynasty, Early Eastern Han Dynasty, Mid-Late Eastern Han Dynasty.In addition, this thesis also dabbles into the relevant subjects of the working principle of bronze gang lamps, the attribution of the nationality of bronze people figurines, and the inscriptions on bronze wares.
