This study aimed at verify that the achievement motivation and gender can predict the tendency of the risk decision-making, more important to explore the moderator effects of the emotion. It was not only making up the theoretical blank in this field, also guiding students to regulate and control their emotions in practice.120 of 150 students from three universities were chosen at random to complete the AMS and Risk Decision-making scales. The results of this research were as follows:(1) affective priming engendered the mood congruent effect.(2) there were remarkable differences in risk decision-making behavior of the university students with different levels of achievement motivation. The high levels of achievement motivation participants were inclined to high-risk behavior, the low achievement motivation as the opposite.(3) there were significant gender differences in the intensity of emotional experience, that was more female subjects experiencing the emotion of sadness; but in risk decision-making, there was no significant gender difference.(4) familiarity to the situation could exert an influence over the participants'inclination to the risk decision-making.(5) affect played as a moderator between the achievement motivation and risk decision-making tendency to an extent. In a pleasant mood, the participants showed more risk-taking for both achievement motivation levels; however, in the sad mood, the participants with low achievement motivation showed more risk-averse; though there was an increase in the risk aversion for the high achievement motivation students, it did not achieve a significant level.
