| Gorges Luis Borges, as an Argentina poet and writer, had many great influences on the studies of poetic aesthetics and literary creations, with plenty of academic works. Through the comparison and communication between the literary schools of the aesthetic characteristics active in Europe, Borges took fantasy literature and metaphor as the core of his literary writing. Studying on the traditional narratology mode, Borges pointed out that Expressionism and Ultraism writing were still imperfect on the light of grammar and aesthetics. Borges then rediscovered and confirmed the aesthetic advantages of metaphor and fantasy literature appeared in literary writings.This thesis can be divided into three parts.Taking the turning-point of Borges'early literary writing as the beginning, chapter one introduces Borges'personal exploration and literary touch of the western Expressionism and Ultraism during his early study in Europe and then analyzes Borges'positive view toward metaphor and fantasy literature which bring the short stories boundless level within limited text.Through the narratology analysis of the representative works in Borges'Obras Completas, chapter two introduces Borges'idea that the combination of fantasy literature and metaphysical consideration is one of many methods short stories construct modern aesthetic consciousness. First of all, this chapter analyzes the aesthetic tension constructed by the accumulation of fantasy parole appearing in the short stories through the strengthening of metanarrative。Then this chapter discusses Borges' creation in linear narratology that he breaks the limit of traditional linear narratology mode. At last, this paper discusses Borges'boundless narratology mode through case studying. Modern aesthetic awareness is then constructed by Borges.Chapter three discusses the philosophical thoughts over the combination between Borges' metaphysical consideration and the biggest metaphor "time". Metaphor, fantasy literature and metaphysical consideration in Borges' writing broke and rearranged the time sequence in the traditional narratology. The chapter first discusses the development of Borges' special value of time sequence. Then it explores Borges' pursuit to the aesthetic consciousness which combining metaphysical consideration with narratology writing. Borges shows special expansion of narratology mode as breaking traditional limit in his short stories. |
