Cold War Causes Of The Yugoslav Crisis

As the USSR's political situation has changed in the late 1980s, there was a crisis, which caused a series of wars, in Yugoslavia. The disintegration of Yugoslavia was not like the USSR's disintegration, which performed in peace. This thesis focuses on the causes of the crisis in the disintegration of Yugoslavia.I resorted to the geopolitics to analyze the geopolitical status of Yugoslavia in the first part of this thesis. Then I briefly narrated the history of Yugoslav areas and crisis and following wars in Yugoslavia, which was prepared for the following analysis of the causes of the crisis.I applied to etiology and respectively researched the internal causes and external causes of the Yugoslav crisis and the following wars in the second and third parts. On the internal causes of the crisis, I put most analysis on the extreme national chauvinism typically wielded by Milo?evi? and pointed out the acme of the national chauvinism acted by the Yugoslav states. On the external causes, I paid most attention on the indifferences, blindness and the lack of coordination and solidarity of the western countries, among which the US should take the most responsibilities.
