An Artist's Impression Of The Black World

The issues of African-American has been a focus of attention, the issues are also an important part of American culture .Different scholars have different views and ideas on African-American. With the development of American society in the 19th century, the status of Blacks had a major change in American society . At the same time, the American Whites changed attitude to the Blacks. Many scholars have concerned the Black issues of 19th century in literature and history aspects. But there have seldom experts to concern it in paintings. The black images in the 19th century is the main object of this paper. From the perspective of painting to illustrate the status of Blacks had a major change in American society the 19th century, and the change of the White's attitudes. This study is a supplement to the issue of blacks in this period, making the images of black perceptualintuition.In this paper, the main object is the painting of four painters during the 19th century, to analyze the change of the images of black, and the characters and meanings.
