Jin Language Willows Words Overlap Study

Overlapping is one of the earliest focused phenomena in Chinese grammar research and many kinds of aspects of overlapping in mandarin or dialect have been studied and analyzed by experts in academic circle adequately.In this dissertation, each type of word in Liulin dialect is taken as the study object and overlapping in Liulin dialect is described and analyzed synchronically in terms of internal structure, semantic and syntax function. On the basis of this, investigation methods in socialinguistics are used to investigate the usage of adjective overlapping, explore the relation between the usage of it and gender,age, educational background and place (urban or rural) and predict its developing tendency.On one hand, this paper can enrich the studies on the repletion of Shanxi dialect and contribute to the generality study on the repetition of dialects. On the other hand, it is of positive and practical significance to language teaching, dialect-dictionary compiling and so forth.The dissertation consists of five parts, the four parts of which focus on the description and analysis of forms, meanings and functions of noun, verb, adjective and other types of word overlappings. The fifth part is about the individual case investigation on adjective overlapping from socialinguistic point of view. By the research above, we have had more knowledge on overlapping as follows:(1) In terms of overlapping form, words on relative titles and object nouns which are presented in the form of overlapping in mandarin are expressed in one-syllable words or other forms of words instead of overlapping in Liulin dialect. Minorities of titles can be overlapped in liulin dialect too, but these titles after being overlapped refer to different objects. That is to say, overlapping in Liulin dialect and overlapping in mandarin have nothing in common except in type.(2) In terms of meaning of overlapping. Each type of word overlapping in liulin dialect can indicate specific designation. In addition, there are abundant feature overlapping structures in Liulin dialect, which have been seen as a word and analogy can not be given to them.(3) In terms of function, overlapping in Liulin dialect have all syntax functions the mandarin has. The difference between overlapping in liulin dialect and overlapping in mandarin is:there are more negative overlapping forms in Liulin dialect than in mandarin.(4) From socialinguistic point of view, the usage of adjective overlapping are closely related to gender, age, educational background and language attitude. AA form and ABAB form in mandarin are expected to be integrated into Liulin dialect.
