Caste politics is a unique political phenomenon of India society, it is the traditional Indian caste system reflected in the modern political arena. This paper will use the theories of modernization and political science to analyze the impact of caste politics in the process of political democratization. Then, paper will reveals the harm to the political democratization process of India from Caste politics.The paper is divided into three parts. The first part outlined the evolution of Indian caste politics. The second part analyzed the caste politics in the process of India political democratization, and pointed out the factors of caste politics in Indian party politics and election politics. The third part summarized three obstacles that caste politics encountered in the process of India political democratization. Caste politics is not conducive to the integration of the modern state, led to political instability, exacerbated by caste-based violence in conflict.At last, concluded that, after Indian independence the traditional caste politics combined with the western parliamentary democracy, the caste politics has changed a lot, and the impact showed some new features. These new features coordinated with the process of Indian political democratization, especially in the political arousal of low caste class and the development of party politics. The impact is reflected more in the form of democracy, in the essence, it is still reinforced the caste doctrine. Caste politics has become the biggest political obstacle in the process of India political democratization. With the advancement of the process of political democratization, caste politics will eventually be abandoned by Indian democracy politics.
