GCC states are located in the crossroad where the east and west hemispheres meet. Due to the strategic position, the area has always been the powder keg. Boasting of rich oil reserve,the Gulf region is also known as the world's oil depot. Moreover, the region is a lucrative enormous commodity market. Owing to the important factors, the Gulf region has long been an arena giving rise to rivalry for great powers. There're eight states in the Gulf region, namely. Iran, Iraq, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia. Since Iran and Iraq are not members of GCC, it is beyond the research. To create a good domestic and international environment, GCC states attach great importance to employing foreign policies. The United States, the world's only superpower, has basically maintained its predominant position in the gulf region due to decades of efforts. Therefore, to maintain the sound relations with the United States has become the top priority of the GCC foreign affairs. GCC is the result of collective security by the six countries concerned in the Gulf region. Weak in military strength, GCC states have to turn to USA. Though the foreign policy varies for country to country, it contributes to the diversity of foreign policies in Gulf region. China, the largest developing country, is also a permanent member of the Security Council has been pursuing an independent foreign policy of peace. China has played an increasing important role in international arena. Considering the important role of China, GCC states have paid much emphasis to the relations with China. With the continuous advance of China's modernization drive, the consumption of oil in China is soaring. It has thus strengthened the importance of the relations with GCC states.GCC states attaches great importance to maintaining and developing relations with China. However, GCC states do not put equal stress on the relations with China and America. The paper attempts to delve into the reasons behind them. And the paper will come up with the prediction of GCC foreign policy based on these factors.
