China has lately launched on-going"crime crackdown"activities, cracking down an amount of gangs and gangster-based evil forces. There is no denying, it has stabilized people's everyday life and maintained a well-regulated social environment. However, it has indicated that kinds of gangs are being built up even faster. Being considered a particularly-concentrated struggle,"crime crackdown"activities have effectively controlled gang-based forces and organizations to some extent. Such activity, on the other hand, is merely a criminal means but not a long-term and detailed term regulated in criminal law. It is aimed at proving its feasibility within a specific duration. Consequently, it works when actions are taken; at the mean time, it helps little when measures are not harshly taken. Accordingly, it is a must to build up a solid system to guarantee its permanent efficacy. The present thesis falls into three parts. Chapter one largely introduces gang as a form of illegal crime organization. The first part roughly indicates the gangs around the world in terms of different country and district such as Japan, Italy and Taiwan district, summarizing characteristics of anti-gangster activities in these places. Owing to the far longer history of gang rising and controlling in the above-mentioned countries and districts, they boast an experienced system to crackdown the organizations, which is really valuable for us to take in. With a research methodology of statistics with case study, in the second part of this chapter, we discuss the defining features of China's gang forces, namely, diversity of kinds of teams, wide range of distribution, dependence on"Shelter", and quick rebirth after crackdown on them. Hence, according to the fixed law and nature of gangs, in China, we take adequate actions and activities to crackdown our specific gang forces. With a solid foundation of literature and resource, the chapter two centers on three biggest anti-gang campaign in our history which inclusively contains three major periods, namely, 1983~1986, 1996~1997, and 2000 to date. Apart from analyzing the features of anti-gang activities, we also discuss some particular examples in Guangdong and Chongqing, analyzing the nature and effectiveness as well. In a perspective of building up a permanent and long-endured system for"crime crackdown", with reference from Amendment VIII to Criminal Law, chapter three focuses on the solutions finding. To crack down more effectively and strongly, more efforts and strengths are to be sharpened. In terms of judicial law, we have to assume the responsibility and reliability to equally ensure the interests for both plaintiff and the accused.
